This Newsletter comes to you a bit later than usual, as I've been considering what changes to make in order to continue to provide valuable and encouraging content for you. I'm excited to announce that this year we'll focus on a Fruit of the Spirit or attribute of God and life application, supported by additional content in each Flourish Newsletter. I hope you love the changes!

Have you ever been in the mountains on a clear night? The stars shine like diamonds against a black velvet sky. The specks of light seem so small and distant, yet looking through a telescope we can see how huge each star actually is. In our hard times, God can seem distant, but if we adjust the lens we can see how big God actually is.

What in your life is looming large? What issue, crisis or circumstance is pressing hard on you? Whatever you are facing, God invites you to fix your eyes not on what is seen, but what is unseen. (2 Corinthians 4:18). God has an eternal, unseen purpose beyond this difficulty, this crisis, this pressing circumstance. Shift your perspective so you can see more of God. Seek Him in prayer, in the Word, in the beauty of His creation, and meditate with awe and wonder on His amazing attributes. The bigger God is, the smaller your struggles. During the hard times and the dark times, remember that God is working good together for you in ways you have yet to see. It is coming, in His time. As you choose faith and focus on God's greatness, fears will dissipate and be replaced with peace.

Prayer: God please help me to trust you in all things, even when I don't understand. Help me see with the clarity of a telescope lens the intensity and vastness of your love, grace, kindness and power. Help me to feel your presence and to know that I am safe in your arms of love.

Childlike faith is an attitude of the heart which God desires in each of us. A child fully trusts a loving parent to accept, love, protect, spend time with and be there, to listen and understand, to comfort and encourage, to nurture and care, and provide for his or her needs. God wants us to trust Him that way too. But if you've been deeply wounded by those you trusted, then trusting God can be a tremendous challenge.
