Dear Friends,
March invites us to keep tending what began in February. Last month, we began exploring Emotional Rest - the freedom to be fully yourself without pressure to perform or pretend.
We talked about emotional exhaustion that comes from constantly holding it together, being strong for everyone else, or silencing parts of yourself to keep the peace as well as the hidden fatigue that comes from carrying others’ expectations, suppressing your needs, or constantly managing how you are perceived.
This month, we’re continuing that conversation.
Because emotional rest isn’t just about awareness - it’s also about protection.
It’s about creating boundaries that guard the life God is nurturing in you. It’s about intentionally stewarding your emotional energy wisely. It’s about choosing safe spaces where your heart can exhale and authenticity can thrive.
As we honor International Women’s Day on March 8th, I’m reminded that strong women are not women who do it all - they are women who know how to rest, renew, and rise again rooted in truth.
This month, let’s explore what it means to protect your peace without apology and cultivate emotional rhythms that allow you to flourish.

This reflection is an invitation to slow down, listen inward, and allow God to meet you right where you are.
Take a quiet moment and consider:
- Where in my life am I feeling emotional depletion - and what might need a loving boundary?
- What would change if I gave myself permission to protect my peace without guilt?
Prayer: “Heavenly Father, Thank You for the life You are nurturing within me. Forgive me for the times I have overextended myself or silenced my needs in order to please others. Teach me to guard my heart with wisdom and grace. Show me where boundaries are needed - not as walls, but as protection for what You are growing. Help me steward my emotional energy well. Lead me into safe spaces where I can be fully myself - honest, whole, and free. May I flourish by abiding in You. In Jesus name. Amen.”

A Simple Emotional Rest Practice

One of the most powerful ways to cultivate emotional rest is through a brief morning check-in.
Before reaching for your phone or stepping into the day’s responsibilities, pause for just a few quiet moments and gently ask yourself:
• How am I truly feeling this morning? • What do I need today - physically, emotionally, spiritually? • What boundary might help protect my peace today?
This practice takes only a few minutes, but it can shape your entire day.
When you begin with awareness instead of urgency, you move from intention rather than reaction. You’re less likely to overcommit, absorb what isn’t yours to carry, or silence your own needs.
Emotional rest often begins with simply noticing. You cannot steward what you do not acknowledge.
Try this practice for the next 7 days and observe what shifts.
