Dear Friends,

Welcome 2025!🥳At this point in the new year, have you returned to your normal routine? Or are you trying to find what "normal" is in this season? What are your goals for 2025? How are you doing with making progress? Whatever circumstances you are facing or season you may be in, what are you focused on? We move in the direction of our most dominant thought.

Focusing on obstacles distorts our vision. When we stare at obstacles or fears, which can loom so large, we can't see to take the next step of faith. It's as if we are groping around in a dark room, unable to clearly and safely navigate our way. Yet, when we shift our focus to God, light illuminates our path and we can see to take the next step. Then the next. And the next.

The truth is that God is bigger than any obstacle you are facing and He wants to walk with you through it. God has already planned a way over, around, or through any barriers that might exist on the path to fulfilling His purpose for your life. While it seems like we think many things at once, the fact is that the mind can only think one thought at a time. Our thoughts run in rapid succession through our minds, much like individual picture frames in a movie real. Yet, each thought is an individual picture frame. You do have the power to choose what you will focus on. While giving yourself compassion and grace, gently bring your mind back to the truth - God is bigger than anything you are dealing with. Focus your mind on thoughts which bring life, hope, peace, and encouragement. Look for what you are grateful for. Here. In in this moment. Right now. (Philippians 4:6-8)

Prayer: Oh loving, gracious Father so often I loose sight of You because my focus is on what's going on in my own life. How quickly I forget Your vastness, power, and sovereignty. Yet, when I look at the stars in the sky or stand at the edge of the ocean, or look out over the vast expanse of mountain peaks, I am reminded of just how small I am. I am reminded that you lovingly hold me in the palm of your hand. You know my name. You know my name! (Isaiah 43:1) How incredible that I am seen, known, and dearly loved by You. Please help me fix my eyes on You, trusting that You are with me. Right here. Right now. Amen.
